So a couple of things have happened since I last updated here, and a certain exciting thing is going to happen, which I will mention later on.
There have also been a couple of things that didn't happen, namely my attending the AZ Matsuri festival or Con-niciwa.
About what's been going on in recent times (or it was recent times, when I first wrote this, but apparently never posted): in March I went to a monthly art vendor event that has a different them each time, and for this one it was cosplay! I wore my 1, 2 Fanclub Rin outfit with LilacLilac as Gumi again, like at Taiyou. Someone actually recognized what song we were from, which seriously made my day~ We had several others of our friends with us, including hundred-nine, imalittlesquirrelly5, who was cosplaying Mami, and Airabee, who finally got to wear her Heartbreak Headlines Gumi cosplay (she had been wanting to wear it for many months xD). Before the others got there, she and I ran around, taking pictures at a particular location nearby--one that Airabella had hoped to do Heartbreak Headlines photos at anyway, and we also have plans for at least one other photo shoot there, once we actually make the costumes. I found that taking photos is pretty awesome--and Airabella is a lot of fun to hangout with anyway, so that made for a rather enjoyable time. I hope I get to play the photographer again sometime soon. xD Despite the fact that I didn't know what I was doing some of the time, I was really pleased with how most of them turned out~ (You can judge for yourself, as I have added the pictures she's posted at the end of this journal. ^-^)
The other eventful thing that has happened is that I was made head of costumes in my drama class for our performance of As You Like It, the Shakespeare comedy. I'm really excited to test out my design skills in a more serious way like this. Airabella is actually in the group too; we have big plans. Well, not really that big, but judging by comparison to some of the costume stuff we've found backstage from past classes, we're doing things quite a lot differently. xD (Update to present time: It was... okay. Could have been better. But it was a good experience.)
Moving on. Earlier this month was PCC. On Friday, I was in the J-fashion show--Photo here: www.flickr.com/photos/viciousw… --along with 4 friends of mine (one pictured in the photo after mine, and the other three, the ones before). Once again, we modeled for Xandra Designs, my grandmother's business. Earlier in the day, I cosplayed Satsuki from Studio Ghibli's "My Neighbor Totoro", and a friend cosplayed Mei. Squirrelly cosplayed Mako from Kill la Kill, but I don't think anyone got our joke with that... In the morning, we spent a couple of hours hanging out with JoiFuLStudios, and she took some very nice pictures for us, which I will get around to posting pretty soon I think~ After the fashion show, we sat and chated with penguinphoebe for a while. All in all, it was a pretty relaxed con day. ^-^
Saturday I wore a very pink lolita outfit. Also I learned that it is better to be inconvenienced for a greater portion of the day by having to carry around posters you purchased rather than not be able to buy them at all because they sold out. I should have known better than to wait; they were Doctor Who and Sherlock, so of course they would be popular. > . <
Lastly, that exciting news I mentioned way back at the beginning of this extra-long journal entry... I am going to Anime Expo this year! I am undecided on the order still, but, if everything goes according to plan, I ought to have Bad End Night Miku (Vocaloid) and Raziel (Mystic Archives of Dantalian) ready to wear by then. To fill in the other days, I'll probably bring Satsuki and/or Lolita stuff. Or maybe even some new other Japanese street fashion stuff I've become interested in; besides Lolita, I really like the Dolly Kei, Shironuri, and Mori girl styles~ I might not have anything good enough put together in time though, so we'll see.
